Scaling-up ITN access and use in sub-Saharan Africa: Estimated LLIN requirements and coverage outcomes based on the global delivery strategy mix (17/12/08)
This HRC report presents the relative cost-effectiveness of scaling-up delivery of Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets. It concludes that there is currently unrealistic optimism on the levels of access to LLINs and their use that can be achieved within the next few years, and on the numbers of LLINs needed to reach these targets.

New topic guide: Injury and violence (17/12/08)
This guide summarises the evolving state of knowledge on different types of injuries as an important public health issue, and provides access to resources on current efforts to reduce such injuries.

New issues of id21 Insights (15/12/08):
Rethinking sexuality and policy calls for a new political outlook which promotes sexual rights, and for sexuality to be recognised as a policy issue.
Improving the nutrition status of children and women asserts that good nutrition status for children and adolescent girls is fundamental for attaining many of the Millennium Development Goals, but despite this many donors and governments underinvest in interventions to improve nutrition.

DFID's Continuing Professional Development Day on Health Workers: 5th November 2008
The day aimed to: review the state of the international response to the global shortage of health workers, particularly in light of G8 and Call to Action commitments, identifying DFID's role in facilitating progress at country, regional and global levels; and provide an update on latest evidence / best practice on how to address the global shortage of health workers.
